Snow day

Since we have had no snow this winter we decided we needed to head to the mountains so the kids could get a taste of it (in Jack's case, literally, a taste of it!).

So on Saturday the kids, Karen, Steve, Cameron, Chris and I all piled into our SUV and headed up to Hyak Sno-Park. (Plus I wanted the kids to use their snow suits at least once since they won't fit next year...not to mention the brand-new sled that hadn't been used.)

We had an awesome time! The snow was perfect for sledding...it was warm but not too bright, and no blizzard to sled through, and hardly any people.

Jack was in heaven. He is obsessed with ice. Give him the choice of eating a cookie or ice, he'll choose the ice. So to be surrounded by the stuff was pretty "cool."

They even had an espresso stand where we warmed up with mochas and hot chocolate when we were done. We can't wait to go back! And hopefully more often, if it decides to actually snow next year.

Jackson's first walk in the snow (he was too young last year to remember it!).

"Hmmm...what is this cold white stuff?"

"Wow! It tastes like my favorite food...ICE!"

"Yummy , yummy, yummy!!!"

Kaylyn loved to be pulled in the sled.

"I love the snow!"

"Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!"

  1. Pretty cool that the kids could make it down the hill without stalling or crashing. Which one was the pilot?
